I'm still upset about the FBS playoff selection of Ohio State. They weren't even good enough to win their conference or even play in their conference title game. Penn State defeated Ohio State and won the conference championship and deserved the selection over Ohio State.

The playoff needs to be 8 or 12 teams.

...as for FCS, I'm rooting for Eastern Washington.

Something we finally agree about Spanky. In years past, they had said they determined conference championships important. If they aren't considered then why even have them? Skip that week and add four more teams to the playoff system. Or better yet let each conference send their conference Champion to the playoff and winner takes all. Mountain West will get spanked and slapped around but in the end the winning team will have beat not just their conference but all the others.

Mount Union will not be playing in the Stagg Bowl this season after 11 straight years playing for the DIII championship. That's an amazing run for the Purple Raiders.

DIII must be going crazy without Mount Union or Wisconsin Whitewater playing for the championship. Those two teams have played each other for the title 9 times since 2005.

Mary Hardin-Baylor 20, Wisconsin Oshkosh 19

I'll go against conventional wisdom and take James Madison upsetting North Dakota State 32-28. Only a fool bets against ND State in the playoffs, so..........

Eastern Washington 38, Youngstown State 10

It's nice to see Youngstown State back in the title game. They won four titles under Jim Tressel and Bo Pelini has the Penguins looking good. How long he stays there though is anybody's guess, as I'm sure he wants to get back up to the FBS level for those bigger paychecks.

I love the FCS playoffs: 24 teams and the title is determined on the field, not by computer/voter placements into a 4-team "playoff".

I'll take James Madison's momentum for a 38-34 win.

Group of 5 officials considering playoff
http://www.espn.com/college-football/st ... er-5-teams
Quote:
They envision an 8-team playoff made up of the 5 conference champions (American, USA, Mid-American, Mt. West & Sun Belt) + 3 at-large teams or independents (BYU, Army & U-Mass.)

Sub 20 degree temps in Frisco, TX for the FCS Championship.
Both won semifinal games on the road.

James Madison is undefeated this season vs FCS competition.
Youngstown State has won 6 straight games with a 4th string QB.

Kickoff set for 12PM EST (10AM MST)

I like the alternate 8-team playoff idea.

That FBS title game was amazing. I thought it would be impossible to top last year's game, but they managed to do it. I'm glad that Dabo got one.

Here's an early upset call for next season...Kansas State makes the 4-team playoff.

I also like USC, Florida State and Michigan.
