With the season just around the corner... Top teams for this year? Much like football but even more so for basketball, I don't think Snowflake will be very good this year. I was Proved wrong in football this season but The only returning starter is Rick Shumway but he will be out from a knee injury in football. I have no clue who will have it this year other than some rip off private schools that have the ability to recruit and beat out best public school while the other 3 private schools play for it all. (still pretty hard feelings about losing two years in a row to private schools in semi finals)

I think you will be surprised by Snowflake's team this year.

When you lose a huge powerful post like Reggie Peterson, Strong quick all around good athlete Chase Walden, Awesome defense Dallin Merrill and Braccin Tanner, with Shumway hurt, who would replace them? Nobody stuck out on JV that could replace those starting 5. Even Doug Brimhall the 6th man, I don't think any starter would be as good as even him..

Watch out for Kurt Wood, a sophomore, to really stand out this year. Ty Reidhead is a great defender, and Jr. Travis Flake has improved his game and gotten bigger. There is a lot of younger talent in the SF bball program

I know that sophomore class has stout basketball athletes but they are still young.. Juniors and Seniors don't have much. I forget Reidhead will play. He will make an amazing addition to the team.. We will see, Snowflake has been good, really good, the last couple of years. It should continue but no names stood out to me. When the Sophomore's are juniors and seniors we should see a gold ball or two coming our way I think...

Just looked over Snowflake's roster. Tallest is 6-4, only 4 that are 6-2 or better. I think small ball is the order of things. I see some speed coming; these guys should run very well. There are a couple of shooters and the three sophomores on the roster are solid. They will join six seniors and four juniors.

Somebody needs to confirm that Rick Shumway is out. I've heard that, but I've also heard that he's in rehab and expects to join the team.

The Lobos will participate in the Sedona tourney and, as has become customary, Flagstaff's annual Pepsi tourney.

I saw that the Republic has them ranked number 4 in Div III. Interesting...

(sigh) Put the football down. It's time for roundball...
