Lumberjack Position Preview: Running Backs
http://www.nauathletics.com/sports/fbal ... 081762eyny

... All-American Zach Bauman has been the go-to guy for NAU over the last three years, there's little doubt that this year's group of running backs are filled with explosive talent.

Backing up Zach this season will be sophomore Casey Jahn. He registered 306 yards on 41 carries with four touchdowns as a true freshman.

"I think one of our biggest goals this season is to help Zach get the Walter Payton Award," said Jahn. "This is his year to win it. We're going to push him in practice, and I will be there to give him a rest when he needs it."

I don't see them making the playoffs again this season. Eastern Washington is the team to beat, followed by Montana State and Cal Poly. Montana had a down year last season; Sacramento St could sneak into the top 3 of the conference.

Here's my prediction for their season:

@Arizona (L)
UC Davis (W)
S. Dakota (W)
Montana (L)
@Montana St. (L)
@Sacramento St. (W)
Idaho St. (W)
@Cal Poly (L)
N. Dakota (W)
N. Colorado (L)
@S. Utah (L)

That's an understatement: E Wash beat #25 Oregon St.
